Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan, Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan private island, Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan name from space, Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan uae, rainbow sheikh, Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan name from space private island, hamad name from space,
What would you do if you were a billionaire? Buy an Aston Martin? Live on a private island? Cure world hunger? A mysterious billionaire from the United Arab Emirates has loftier ideas – literally. He has carved his name on an island near Abu Dhabi, and it is so large that it can be seen from space.

Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan, Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan private island, Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan name from space, Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan uae, rainbow sheikh, Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan name from space private island, hamad name from space, The (let’s face it – egotistical) billionaire is Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan, and each letter of his name is more than a half a kilometre long. As a result, his name is so big that it spans three kilometers. Don’t worry – it’s his own island he has desecrated.
Al Ahyan is President of the oil-rich United Arab Emirates, and he boasts a personal fortune second only to the Saudi king’s. Known as the ‘Rainbow Sheikh’, he is a member of the Abu Dhabi Ruling Family. The Rainbow Sheikh has his own private island (Al Futaisi) off the coast of Abu Dhabi, he owns the world’s most expensive car (a custom-made Bugatti L’Or Blanc fitted with a porcelain caviar tray) and he reportedly likes to give generously to medical causes. He is also understood to have some 200 exotic cars (held in the National Museum) including seven Mercedes 500 SELs painted in different colours of the rainbow which he stores in a giant pyramid – you read that right.

What is even more intriguing is that it is not known how the name was inscribed on his island. It was reportedly started some time ago but was placed on hiatus. The completed project picture was recently uploaded on the billionaire’s Facebook site, indicating that it is now finished. The letters, according to reports, don’t wash away as they form waterways to absorb the encroaching tide.
He also has the world’s largest truck – the Dodge Power Wagon – which is 64 times bigger than the original and has an entire apartment inside. Click here to see it.

Millions of cars or the road means only one thing, an excellent source for air pollution. The amount of pollution that all cars produce together can create big problems. The amount of pollution that all cars produce together can cause big problems. Government created laws that restrict the amount of pollution that cars produce to solve it. Auto makers have made many improvements to car engines and fuel systems to keep up with these laws. In 1975, an interesting device called catalytic converter was created. The device, converts harmful pollutants into less harmful emissions before they ever leave the car’s exhaust system.
The exhaust from the combustion in a car engine is comprised of six main ingredients:
  1. Nitrogen gas, Carbon dioxide and water vapor are the three of the main emissions. These gases do not cause damage to the atmosphere.
  2. Carbon Monoxide, other hydrocarbons and Nitrogen Oxides result in a majority of the pollution caused by cars.
  • Carbon monoxide is a colorless and odorless gas that can kill you if too much is inhaled
  • Hydrocarbons are produced during incomplete combustion and these hydrocarbons can be broken down by the sun, creating ground level Ozone, also known as smog.
  • Nitrogen Oxides can cause acid rains.
Catalytic convertors are designed to reduce these last three emissions.
Construction:
The core is often a ceramic/stainless steel foil honeycomb.
-          Increases the amount of surface area
-          Support the catalyst.  Also called “catalyst support”.

A wash coat is used to make converters more efficient because a mixture of silica and alumina will form a rough and irregular surface which leads to more surface area. Therefore, more places for active precious metal sites. The catalyst is added to the wash coat before applied to the core.
Platinum is the most active catalyst and is widely used. Other materials such as palladium and rhodium have also been used.

At the Clerkenwell Design Week in London (24-26 May 2011) Jaguar is showcasing a bespoke art installation that illustrates the design development of the C-X75 Concept.
Jaguar C-X75 at Clerkenwell Design WeekThe installation reveals insights into the car design process through eight ‘windows’ each measuring two metres wide.
Starting with inspiration, the journey includes creating sketchwork, material choice and sculpting full-size clay models created for the C-X75 Concept.
It is revealed that for that in the early design phase of a new car, approximately five hundred sketches are pencilled before a single theme is decided upon.
Also on display are a selection of Jaguar’s current range of cars; the XFR, XKR-S and XJ Supersport. The company’s stands are located in the Farmiloe Building.

Hugo Nightingale, Senior Designer, Jaguar Cars, said: “We want to explain to people the art of creating a car. In some companies car design is a technical, cold process. At Jaguar it is about emotion, artistry and craftsmanship.”
Jaguar C-X75 Design Sketch “Clerkenwell Design Week is the perfect environment for us to present the C-X75 to the design world and explain how its existence was founded on a desire to continue Jaguar’s design philosophy of flowing lines, purity of form and bespoke luxury for years to come.”
On the C-X75 Ian Callum, Design Director, Jaguar Cars, commented, “The C-X75 is everything a Jaguar should be.
“It possesses remarkable poise and grace yet at the same time has the excitement and potency of a true supercar. You could argue this is as close to a pure art form as a concept car can get.”
